About This Place

Nestled within the Forum Shopping Center in Chesterfield, MO, Paul Manno's Restaurant offers an authentic taste of Italy that has quickly earned its place as one of St. Louis's finest Italian dining destinations. This unassuming gem, tucked away in a strip mall setting, delivers an experience that transcends its exterior through exceptional cuisine, a warm atmosphere, and attentive service.

Step inside, and you're greeted by a setting that feels like a sentimental homage to classic Italian-American culture. The decor evokes a glamorous throwback with iconic images of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra adorning the walls, setting a refined yet relaxed tone that elevates every meal. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between intimate and inviting, with just the right lighting and soft murmurs of conversation creating a memorable dining environment.

At the heart of Paul Manno's appeal is its meticulously crafted menu, bursting with rich flavors and thoughtfully paired ingredients. Begin your culinary journey with starters like the Calamari Fritti — tender calamari rings fried to a golden crisp served alongside olive oil and balsamic glaze that adds delightful depth — or indulge in the delicate Lobster & Shrimp Ravioli dressed in subtle, creamy sauces that speak of Old-World passion.

The Primi Piatti selections showcase a stunning variety, from the spicy kick of Shrimp Scampi Or Diavolo at $19, to the savory richness of Melenzana Parmigiano at $12. Pasta connoisseurs will be captivated by standouts such as Linguini Mar É Monti ($29), a sumptuous blend of seafood and delicate pasta, or the classic Rigatoni Arrabbiata, delivering a perfectly balanced spicy tomato punch. The house specialty, Mezzi Rigatoni Alla Nonna ($26), is a must-try that evokes the warmth and comfort of nonna’s kitchen.

For mains, the restaurant shines with dishes like the Veal Milanese and the dramatically flavorful Veal Pizzaiola bathed in a robust Diablo red sauce, as well as the tender Rack of Lamb, celebrated by patrons for its melt-in-your-mouth texture and impeccable seasoning. Seafood lovers will find the Halibut and the Shrimp and Italian Sausage dishes equally compelling, a testament to Paul Manno’s dedication to fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Dessert is an indulgence not to be overlooked — house-made Tiramisu delivers that perfect balance of espresso and creamy sweetness, while both the Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream and the Lava Cake cap off the meal with luscious textures and rich, satisfying flavors.

Customers consistently rave about the experience. One diner described it as “one of the best Italian restaurants in St. Louis,” applauding the “rich and delicious” flavors and the “fine dining atmosphere” that somehow feels right at home despite the modest location. The impeccable service is often highlighted, with attentive waitstaff complementing the meal perfectly.

Maybe one of the best in St. Louis for Italian food. I’ve overlooked this restaurant for decades and we finally went in for a celebratory dinner. The decor is a throwback with pictures of Dean and Frank. The food is rich and delicious. Prices are high. Veal is a must-try.

I travel with work and eat out often. This is by far and away the single best Italian restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. The wait staff is impeccable and the food is amazing and CONSISTENT. Two of my favorites on the menu are their house special veal chop and the shrimp scampi. The place is in an unassuming strip mall but has a nice ambience and ultra good food. Highly highly recommended.

This is one of the finest Italian restaurants in St. Louis. You walk in and expect Frank Sinatra to be playing. Really nice, fine dining atmosphere. This is a little unexpected since It’s just a restaurant in a strip mall. Great drinks from the bartender. The bread is amazing and it served with olive oil and balsamic glaze to dip in. That was superb. The calamari was good. The veal was good but a little tough. The Seabass was cooked perfectly as was the rest of the food. The side vegetables were excellent. The desserts were amazing! The service was excellent.

Paul Manno’s – A Meal That Left a Mark Dining at Paul Manno’s was one of those experiences that reminded me why going out to eat can be something special—not just about the food, but the feeling it leaves you with. The atmosphere is refined but relaxed. It’s the kind of place where the lighting is just right, the tables are dressed nicely, and the room carries a quiet hum of conversation that makes you want to lean in and enjoy. What really stood out, though, was the service. Matthew, our server, was excellent—attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. He made the whole evening feel smooth and personal, like we were being hosted rather than just served. The food lived up to the setting. The lobster ravioli was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. You could taste the quality in each bite—the lobster filling was fresh, and the sauce had a beautiful depth, with peas and mushrooms adding color and texture. It was comforting but elevated—something clearly made with care. Then there was the lamb chop—perfectly cooked, bone-in, and served in a rich, flavorful sauce with a generous topping of sautéed mushrooms. It had a slight char on the outside, tender inside, and paired beautifully with the sauce underneath. It was hearty, balanced, and deeply satisfying. What impressed me most about Paul Manno’s was how well everything came together—from the kitchen to the table. You can tell the team there takes pride in what they do. It wasn’t flashy or over-the-top—just honest, well-executed food and thoughtful service in a setting that made you want to stay a while. We left full, happy, and already planning to come back.

Fantastic dinner at Paul Manno’s, possibly one of the best Italian restaurants in St. Louis. I felt like i had been transported straight to Italy for dinner. Ambiance 10/10. Definitely make a reservation, they fill up fast! We got the lasagna and rack of lamb. Lasagna was fantastic, as expected. I was slightly hesitant in ordering the lamb, just because I had never had it. It did not disappoint! Melted in my mouth and the hints of lemon were delicious. For dessert, tiramisu of course. Very good and light tiramisu , not too chocolately or overpowering. Perfect tiramisu texture. In conclusion, if you’ve never been here and are contemplating, GO!

We had dinner at Paul Manno’s Cafe with our friends a few days ago. The entry door was kinda hidden from the outside. It’s a little too dark to read the menu but it didn’t bother me much. The restaurant has a cozy and charming atmosphere. We started with calamari fritti for appetizer. For entrees, we ordered their famous Rack of lamb (med rare) with Caesar salad and linguini mare monti. My little one had his own off menu item.Rack of lamb was definitely the star of the show. I loved the flavor a lot. We finished our dinner with homemade tiramisu. I didn’t take photos of my friends orders but they were satisfied with the quality of food and service. Paul Manno’s Cafe is absolute a great spot for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine.
